The popular girl group aespa is continuing their May hit formula.
According to an IZE report on the 13th, aespa (Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning) are busy preparing a new album, aiming for a comeback in May. This marks their first official release in nine months, following their sixth mini-album, "Rich Man," released in September of last year.
Since their debut, aespa has consistently produced hit songs, establishing themselves as a representative fourth-generation girl group. Each of their releases, including "Next Level," "Savage," "Spicy," "Supernova," "Dirty Work," and "Rich Man," has garnered significant love.
Not only that, they achieved million-seller sales in the first week of release for five consecutive albums, including 'MY WORLD' (1.69 million copies), 'Armageddon' (1.15 million copies), 'Drama' (1.13 million copies), 'Girls' (1.12 million copies), and 'Rich Man' (1.08 million copies). In particular, they are a team that possesses both popularity and fandom firepower, as they became the first K-pop girl group to achieve million-seller sales in the first week with 'Girls'.
Above all, what makes this comeback so anticipated is that aespa has consistently delivered strong performances every May. "Next Level" and "Spicy," which propelled the group to mainstream popularity, were released in May, while their first full-length album, "Armageddon," featuring the mega-hits "Supernova" and "Armageddon," also hit the market in May.
