Hello, this is HYBE.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the warm support and consideration you showed for the BTS concert held yesterday at Gwanghwamun. First and foremost, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the authorities for allowing us to use Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gwanghwamun, which are symbols of the Republic of Korea, as the venue for this concert.
We are well aware that Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gwanghwamun are spaces where the history, identity, and contemporary culture of South Korea coexist and thrive. HYBE is deeply honored to have been able to present a performance for the whole world in this location.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the police, fire department, and all government and local officials who worked tirelessly to ensure the safe conclusion of this concert.
We also extend our apologies and gratitude to the citizens of the Gwanghwamun area, as well as the nearby merchants, office workers, and visitors. As we were committed to ensuring the safety of a performance watched by the entire world, we had to implement unavoidable measures such as traffic and building controls, as well as searches for hazardous items. We sincerely apologize to everyone who experienced inconvenience, whether passing through Gwanghwamun Square or in their personal schedules and daily lives, as a result of these measures. Thanks to your broad understanding and consideration, we were able to create a truly meaningful event.
K-pop has grown into a global cultural phenomenon that resonates with people around the world today thanks not only to the artists and fans but also to the cultural foundation built by Korean society as a whole, as well as the mature support of our citizens. We are well aware that this concert was made possible by that very foundation. Your orderly conduct, mature civic-mindedness, and consideration for one another made this concert even more memorable. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone once again.
HYBE will cherish the support and consideration shown for this concert and will redouble our efforts to convey the emotion and value of K-pop and K-culture to the world. In particular, we are grateful that this concert allowed us to showcase our proud cultural heritage to the world. We are currently in close consultation with relevant agencies to finalize plans for the protection and promotion of national heritage and cultural assets as soon as possible, and we will implement a long-term support system.
Once again, we sincerely thank everyone who worked hard to make the Gwanghwamun concert a success.
Finally, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to all those affected by the Daejeon fire. I offer my sincere condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured.
