Blackpink's Lisa's bold move is garnering attention.
On the 2nd (local time), Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that Lisa paid 20,000 baht (approximately 750,000 won (500USD)) to each store owner in Bangkok's Chinatown to occupy the streets while filming the music video for her new song "Rockstar."
Lisa filmed the music video for "Rockstar" on Yao Rawat Road in Bangkok, Thailand, from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM on May 3rd. Although it was a typical business closing time, all shops in the area were closed for the filming.
Lisa reportedly paid 20,000 baht (approximately 750,000 won) in compensation to each store owner who lost business, and offered 1,000 baht (approximately 37,000 won (25 USD)) to pedestrians, apologizing for the inconvenience.
The 20,000 baht compensation is said to be more than a month's salary in Thailand, so attention is focused on Lisa's generous actions.
Lisa's MV:
Since it was a night shoot, merchants had to close the store earlier than usual and use lights even though it wasn't the store's opening hours, so they were compensated for one month's salary (2024 article)
