The operation of lockers at major subway stations in downtown Seoul will be temporarily suspended ahead of BTS's comeback concert.
The Seoul Metropolitan Transit Corporation announced on the 17th that it will suspend the operation of lockers at subway stations near Gwanghwamun Square in Jongno-gu from 5:00 AM on the 20th to 1:00 AM on the 22nd in preparation for potential terrorist attacks.
During this period, both new use of the lockers and the retrieval of stored items will be restricted.
The closure applies to a total of 17 stations, including Jonggak Station (Line 1), City Hall Station (Lines 1 and 2), Jongno 3-ga Station (Lines 1, 3, and 5), Euljiro-ipgu Station (Line 2), Anguk Station (Line 3), Gyeongbokgung Station (Line 3), Gwanghwamun Station (Line 5), Seoul Station (Lines 1 and 4), Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Lines 2, 4, and 5), and Myeongdong Station (Line 4).
This measure was decided after consultation with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, taking into account the possibility of explosive in terror**t attacks using the lockers. It is reported that the two agencies discussed related countermeasures on the 11th.
There have been instances in the past where lockers in Seoul subway stations were closed for reasons such as large-scale events. Similar measures were implemented during the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit and the 2024 ruling on the impeachment trial of former President Yoon Suk-yeol.

1. That's right, there's been so many safety concerns around this event to the point where everyone is wondering why is it worth holding..?
2. If the concerns are this severe, it seems like the right thing to do is just not do it.
They truly are the ultimate level of citizen inconvenience
3. At this rate, what's the point of holding the concert?
4. I'm not familiar, but have we ever done this much for a concert so far?
5. If we're this concerned about terror**m, then why didn't we go this far over other outdoors concers?
6. They're going overboard. Just do it at a performance venue. They invited everyone and promoted it as a free performance with the citizens, but then they impose all the inconveniences. What are the people supposed to do with their luggage?
7. If we've been this concerned about terror**m, why hold BTS concert at Gwanghwamun?
8.
9. Just hold it on Single's Inferno's island
10. In 17 stations????? This is so oba
