On April 2, reports circulated that Kim Se Jeong has been cast as the lead in the highly anticipated High School Queen.

In response to the news, her agency, BH Entertainment, told Newsen, "The new drama High School Queen is one of the projects Kim Se Jeong has been offered."

Based on the Naver webtoon of the same name, the series follows Kim Chung Ha — Joseon's queen and its greatest swordswoman — who is reincarnated as a modern-day high school girl named Park Da Jin. Exploiting her Joseon-era martial arts skills, she takes down school bullies.

High School Queen was initially offered to Shin Ye Eun. It was reported that, if accepted, she will star as the lead. However, considering Kim Se Jeong is in talks, it's likely the actress or the production team has taken a different course.

Kim Se Jeong is a South Korean actress who rose to fame after placing second on the reality television talent competition franchise Produce 101 in 2016, debuting as a member of the group I.O.I. Following the group's disbandment, she continued her activities under Jellyfish Entertainment.
