[nate] ERIC NAM, THE REASON WHY I DISAPPEARED FROM THE KOREAN BROADCAST INDUSTRY "PANIC DISORDER LED TO PARALYSIS"

Singer Eric Nam opened up about the hardships he endured during his activities in Korea and the reasons behind the decrease in his television appearances.

Recently, a video titled "Meeting Eric Nam on the Street and Instant Busking Fever" was released on the YouTube channel "Jay Key Out." In the video, Eric Nam met with Jay, a longtime acquaintance, to share updates on his life and open up about his honest experiences.

Recalling his time actively promoting in Korea, Eric Nam confessed, "Unlike my bright demeanor, I suffered from extreme loneliness and mental stress." He further revealed that he went through a difficult period where he suffered from panic disorder, even experiencing symptoms of partial paralysis, and survived for about three months eating only porridge.

He then explained the background behind his change in career direction. Eric Nam has expanded his scope of activity to the global stage, currently appearing on the American variety show The Traitors. He revealed that he is directly involved in planning and production, going beyond mere acting to participate in the production of Hollywood films and series, in addition to his music career.

He shared that his current life is also not easy. He explained that he travels the world alone to manage his schedule without a manager or staff, leading such a busy life that he hasn't stayed in one place for more than a week in over a year. He added that the loneliness he feels during this process served as a major theme for his recent album.

The latter part of the video also captured him interacting with fans while performing an impromptu street busking session. Eric Nam naturally resonated with the audience, demonstrating a connection through music.

Meanwhile, Eric Nam debuted in 2013 and is currently continuing his global tours and music activities centered on the U.S., while simultaneously expanding his activities into various fields such as broadcasting and content production.

This is the best // It's warm // Ridiculous // I'm upset // I'm mad

I always thought Eric Nam would be perfect for the English interviews on You Quiz on the Block when foreign celebrities visited Korea, but I see he was taking a break due to a panic disorder. I hope he recovers soon!

Mental health is so serious that it feels like everyone lives with it to some degree... it's just a matter of degree

It seems like all nice people have panic disorder, seriously

It seems hard to be a celebrity with a normal mindset. You have to be a bit shameless and insensitive

I don't know if this is something people have always experienced but kept quiet about until perceptions changed and they are now coming out, or if it has surged as a modern illness, but there are really so many people around me taking medication for panic disorder or similar conditions ã… ã…  The common thread, just like the top comment said, is that they are all soft-hearted and have a lot of nerves...
