[Nate] "VICTIM OF SA WHEN I WAS 14" AOA KWON MINA, PERPETRATOR PUNISHED AFTER 18 YEARS

Former Kwon Mina personally spoke about the verdict in an 18-year-old SA case and shared her current feelings.

On the 19th, Kwon Mina posted a long message on Instagram beginning with, “Today is the day a long journey of more than four years comes to an end.”

She explained that while preparing for the trial, “Because the incident had happened 14 years earlier, I had great expectations and hope after hearing that if not only r**e charges but also as***t charges were recognized, the statute of limitations would not have expired and the perpetrator could face severe punishment.”

She continued, “Now that the rulings through the second trial have been made, the r**e charge was recognized, but the as****t charge was not, so due to the statute of limitations, no significant punishment can be imposed.” However, she added, “From the victim’s perspective, whether it was guilty or not guilty was what mattered most, but I place great meaning in the fact that even one charge was acknowledged. In any case, it was revealed that the person is a bad person, so I’m trying to be satisfied with the current result.”

Kwon Mina said, “Eighteen years ago, because of the social atmosphere at the time, I had no choice but to stay quiet and hide it, but things have changed a lot now,” adding, “I hope other victims won’t blame themselves or hide. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, so I hope they’ll find the courage to speak up.”

She also expressed gratitude, saying, “I’m truly sorry and thankful to the police officers and prosecutors who carried this emotional burden alongside me and stayed with me through the process.”

Revealing that she is currently preparing another lawsuit related to a separate case, she confessed, “I already feel exhausted and helpless at the reality that unless I personally fight extremely hard, no one can protect or stand up for me.”

She continued, “Rather than being greedy about the outcome, I just hope that at least some of what I say will be acknowledged and accepted,” adding, “For now, I’m going to focus on treatment and recovery. I’m only temporarily worn out, so please don’t worry too much.”

Lastly, Kwon Mina shared her feelings by saying, “It feels relieving, like I’ve finally finished one piece of homework,” and added, “I’ll work through the other remaining tasks well too.”

Previously, in 2023, Kwon Mina appeared on the YouTube channel “Jumjeom TV” and revealed that she had been SA while in her first year of middle school. At the time, she said, “I followed a friend to a place where I suffered hours of physical as****t and s*****l violence,” adding, “That incident still remains my biggest trauma to this day.”

She also explained, “At the time, I was too afraid of retaliation to report it,” and said, “I had to endure it alone for a very long time.” She later mentioned the incident again during an Instagram livestream, describing it as “a wound that cannot easily be erased.”

Cheer up!! You really did the right thing, Mina. You didn't do anything wrong at all, so just think about the future~

She seemed unstable in a way, and it seems there was a reason for it. She was a victim of SA, and her mental state likely broke down starting from the fact that the group leader brought men into the dorm

It is only right to punish those who did wrong, right to the very end!!!
