[PC stories/KPOPTakes] I DISLIKE PANNCHOA NOW THAT MY FAVES AREN'T GETTING WHACKED

Tbh I have only been on this site for 5 years ish (not that long ago I know). Twitter and the wider online communities across social media platforms always tend to do too much. Maybe because I never paid attention to labels and the behind the scenes, I just don’t get their obsessive talking points (awards, charting, band recognition, streams). I honestly don’t understand how anyone can get so invested. I admit that I make not so nice jokes at the expense of my faves. Nonetheless, it always comes as a surprise to me when anyone would comment things like “ofc this is what you think of them, you are an anti.” No! They are my faves I wouldn’t be talking about them if it weren’t for that.

I am of the opinion that some people are doing too much (saying such and such is a god/are the moment comes to mind). If a group is on my watch, they will inevitably get whacked by me eventually. But only if I
grow to like them first.

Pannchoa at first felt like a breath of fresh air because like it or not everyone was getting bashed. I truly believe that most of the user base was made up of multistans, casual listeners or people who outgrew kpop but still come on here for the nostalgia. I don’t know what happened as of last two years tho. So much discourse over the mildest stuff imaginable (yes the njs contract stuff too).

I could make the argument that there is a link to some of that with the growing mainstream popularity of conspiracy theories. But I wrote too much already and I am afraid of sounding braindead. (anyways, thoughts?)

Just to clarify for the people who get pressed over the tiniest thing: I don’t hate your faves. I want them to do better and get bigger. I don’t think their fight is meaningless. I think it wouldn’t have come at a better time in their career (every main pop girl needs to weather down a storm to test her resilience and the same applies here). At this point, what they need is honestly a good comeback era not a break from hybe (that can wait till they have at least outgrown needing a wet nurse). I am arguing in good faith, really no animosity here. So don’t take the wrong message. If I still come across that way, that would be cos of my neutral evil alignment.
