[theqoo] THE REASON WHY I'M CONFUSED THAT THIS DESIGNER WHO CALLED OUT JISOO FOR RETURNING CLOTHES IS GETTING SO MUCH FLACK

1. The designer said that they didn't ask for the clothes for her album shooting but for a magazine

The designer was clearly told by the stylist that this was for "Jisoo's solo album cover."

If you look at the original email sent by the stylist, the subject line explicitly states [Urgent] Jisoo Album Package.

The body of the email also clearly states, “I am secretly in charge of styling for Jisoo’s solo album package.”

In other words, from the designer’s perspective, they were clearly informed from the very beginning that the clothing was for the "Jisoo solo album cover" project and lent the outfits accordingly.

2. Since the stylist works for V Magazine, does that automatically mean V Magazine rented the clothes?

- It is true that the stylist in question (Anna Trevelyan) works with V Magazine.

- However, as you can see from her interviews or Instagram, she works with a wide variety of clients due to the nature of her job.

She herself stated in an interview, “I mainly do album cover, music video, and tour styling rather than personal styling.”

- Even if it really was a photoshoot for Jisoo’s album package, as stated in the email, there would be nothing strange about it at all.

In fact, the claim that the stylist misrepresented a magazine shoot as work for Jisoo’s personal album makes much less sense.

- The clothes at the center of the controversy are currently in Korea, and there has been no confirmation that the shoot for V Magazine, an American publication, took place in Korea.

- While it is true that Jisoo recently shot a pictorial for V Magazine, since that pictorial hasn’t even been released yet, there is no evidence that “the stolen clothes = clothes for the magazine pictorial.”

- While we can’t be absolutely certain that the magazine didn’t borrow them, from the very beginning, both the designer and the stylist consistently stated that they were for “Jisoo’s solo album cover,” and there isn’t even circumstantial evidence to suggest otherwise.

Yet, because some fans’ claims have solidified as if they were official, the designer and the magazine are taking the heat.

3. The desginer didn't mention Jisoo to attract attention and attract the trolls

According to related videos and articles, the designer even attempted legal action to get the clothes back, but was completely ignored by Jisoo’s side for a full six months without any response.

4. Other victims

In particular, since these garments are not mass-produced items, they are as important and precious to the designer as their own children.
Not only the designer in question, but other designers as well have had their works stolen in this matter, and this is essentially the designer stepping forward to speak out on their behalf.

1. BLACKPINK's fans are so messy, they've always been known for that so I'm not even surprised. Jisoo has so much background noise surrounding her that it’s getting a bit annoying...

2. If this wasn't turned into an issue, it would've just continued happening forever and nothing would've been returned

3. I feel bad for the designer

4. I'm not sure if they stored them properly; I hope all the outfits come back in perfect condition

5. The designer was the victim here so why is he getting hate? It must be nice to have so many fans that don't fact check anything and just spread false information for you

6. Aigoo, I can feel the designer's blood boil in the screenshoot. I hope they return his items soon

7. Jisoo's fans were going crazy with the bullying... Seriously, can't they put themselves in his shoes? If I lent someone my work and asked for it back for six months but got no response, wouldn't it be only natural to react like that?

8. I feel bad for Jisoo.... People think that she's an easy target

9. But why are they hating on the designer when he's the victim?

10. Waiting 6 months is a long time. It's a relief that it got returned after all
