[theqoo] OLIVER TREE, WHO GOT INTO A CONTROVERSY OVER JONGHYUN'S FUNERAL, PASSES AWAY DUE TO HELICOPTER CRASH

American singer-songwriter Oliver Tree is reported to have died in a helicopter crash in Brazil.

According to foreign media reports on the 14th (local time), two helicopters collided in mid-air and crashed over western Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Local fire authorities stated that all six occupants of the crashed helicopters died and that they are investigating the exact cause of the accident.

One of the helicopters crashed into a parking lot at a car dealership, and while fires broke out in several parked electric vehicles due to the impact, they were reportedly extinguished soon after.

Brazilian police announced that they have identified Oliver Tree as being on board the crashed helicopter based on the passenger list submitted by aviation authorities. However, it is reported that official identification procedures, including DNA analysis, are currently underway due to the severe damage to the body caused by the impact.

It is known that a total of five people were on board the helicopter Oliver Tree was traveling in, including a Brazilian music producer, an Argentinian video director, and Gaspar Prim Diaz (Gaspi), a famous South American YouTuber with over 2.8 million subscribers, while a single pilot was on board the other helicopter alone.

Oliver Tree was loved by global fans for his hit songs such as "Life Goes On" and "Miss You." He had been on a world tour until recently, and the tragedy is compounded by the fact that he had posted a video on social media of himself enjoying a soccer match in Brazil just one day before the accident.

To domestic fans, he is also known as the figure who caused controversy in 2019 by using an image of his face superimposed onto a funeral photo of the late SHINee member Jonghyun as a tour promotional item. At the time, he apologized to the bereaved family, but after a war of words with K-pop fans continued, he issued another apology.

5. I welcome headlines like this. It's an informative article that tells you before you feel sorry for someone

6. No but this is why you should write the controversy in the title

7. I just searched up who he was and he has so many popular songs

8. I heard he apologized to the bereaved family and even wrote a separate apology letter, so isn't calling it karma too much?

9. Why are there so many people who have learned nothing but sitting and typing on a keyboard, to the point where their moral standards are blurred and they can't even distinguish between right and wrong?

10. Just because he made a mistake doesn't mean he can just die...
