"Stage videos removed after boycott?”… Grammys accused of ‘erasing’ BTS"

After BTS announced a boycott of the Grammy Awards, the most prestigious music awards ceremony in the United States, controversy has emerged over claims that the Recording Academy removed the group's past performance videos from its official channels in what some are calling a retaliatory move.

It has recently been confirmed that Grammy Awards performance videos featuring BTS, including their performance of "Butter", which had been linked in articles on the official Grammy website as well as major international music outlets such as Billboard and Rolling Stone, are no longer playable. The links now either display error codes or redirect to deleted pages.

The videos were reportedly made unavailable shortly after BTS announced its Grammy boycott. As a result, some industry observers and fans have suggested that the organizers are intentionally attempting to erase BTS's past appearances at the awards.

However, regardless of the removal of the videos from the Grammys' official channels, BTS's Grammy performances of "Butter" and "Dynamite" remain available on the group's official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV, where they continue to attract high viewership.

The incident has sparked strong criticism across online communities and among fans both in South Korea and internationally. Many commenters argue that the organizers' actions amount to petty retaliation unworthy of a global awards show, while others say the controversy highlights what they see as the Grammys' longstanding problems with elitism and institutional exclusivity.
