The situation began when a fan, identified as A, posted on social media on August 18 about attending a Block B fan signing event over a decade ago. The fan shared that a remark from U-Kwon at the time remained a painful memory.

According to the fan's account and a video they released, they had asked U-Kwon, "What animal do I resemble?" during the event. U-Kwon wrote "naked mole rat" as his answer. The fan explained that they were 15 years old at the time and recalled that the group was known for being unfriendly to fans during that period, which made the comment especially hurtful.
