[Nate] EX-CNBLUE LEE JONGHYUN, WHO WAS LINKED TO JUNG JOONYOUNG'S GROUP CHAT, RETURNS TO ORDINARY OFFICE WORKER LIFE

Former CNBLUE member Lee Jonghyun has shared an update on his life.

On the 10th, Lee wrote on his Instagram, "I had left this account inactive for eight years," adding, "The account was hacked, and I have currently requested changes to the username and bio."

Lee explained, "There were a few years where I lived with my back turned to the world," and continued, "After that, I learned a trade in an effort to move forward. For the past eight years, I have been working professionally in beauty marketing, a field I find genuinely interesting, even if it is on a small scale."

He added, "This is what my days look like these days: holding meetings, examining products, and thinking about how to do things better."

In the accompanying photo, Lee Jonghyun appears as an ordinary office worker, focused on his tasks.

Lee Jonghyun remarked, "I leave in the morning and return at night. I’ve come to realize just how difficult it is to live an ordinary working life," adding, "I think everyone is truly amazing."

He further stated, "Moving forward, I intend to live my life while communicating with more people as the person Lee Jonghyun."

The post drew a stream of comments from netizens both in Korea and abroad. Users from Japan and Indonesia expressed that they had been waiting for his return, while domestic comments conveyed relief at seeing him healthy.

On the other hand, there were also numerous comments pointing out that his username still contained a reference to CNBLUE and urging him to change it.

Lee Jonghyun debuted in 2010 as a member of the four-piece band CNBLUE. He subsequently pursued an acting career, appearing in productions such as SBS’s A Gentleman’s Dignity, KBS 2TV’s Girls’ Generation 1979, and OCN’s Evergreen.

He became embroiled in controversy in 2019 after it was revealed that he had participated in a group chat with Jung Joonyoung, who was at the center of a scandal involving the distribution of molkas.

At the time, Lee voluntarily withdrew from CNBLUE, stating, "I feel sorry that the other members have suffered harm because of me." He added, "I deeply regret my wrongdoing and humbly accept the criticism and feedback from many people. I apologize for causing a stir with this disgraceful incident."

According to the KakaoTalk messages, Lee * Hyun said, "Hurry up and send some girls over. Make sure they're f***ing sl*ts," and Jung Joon * replied, "Who should I send?" Lee then said, "Ideally someone who hasn't f***ed around, but if not, just a pretty sl*t." This was the level of conversation they were having at age thirty, it just shows their se**al mindset is completely f***ed up, and people like that don't change
