[theqoo] THE AGE-GASLIGHTING THAT CORTIS' FANDOM IS DOING THAT IS INCREASINGLY RECEIVING BACKLASH

Screenshot 1:
CORTIS fans' comments:
- High schoolers just wrote something, you could've simply told them not to do it again and encouraged them to grow, but instead, you leave nasty comments. What exactly is your problem with it? Honestly, these hags...
> ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Look at these hags acting like this
> Telling someone not to do that in the future actually makes you sound more like an annoying ahjumma... Are you a boy's mom?
> You look the oldest out of everyone who commented here

- Boy's mom

- This is what they meant by "boys' moms vibes"

Screenshot 2:
CORTIS fans' comments:
- That's how idol lyrics are these days, but it seems they got on the bad side of the Theqoo crowd because they're a group popular with young kids ㅋㅋ

- Just because you like the lyrics doesn't mean they're going to knock years off your age

- To the boys' moms who use age as a shield: if a female idol of the same age rubs you the wrong way, you'd be the first to tear into her more viciously than anyone else. We've seen this game played before

Title of post: CORTIS' debut age: 17–21 last year; 18–22 this year

CORTIS fans' comments:
- Seriously, aren't most of the idols who debuted last year around that age? It’s especially noticeable with them

- For real, there are idols of the same age who debuted earlier, and even younger ones, but for some reason, people keep making a big deal about the age of this particular group

Screenshot 4:
Title of post: CORTIS' ages when they will renew their contract will be 2424252528

Meanwhile, the 28 y.o isn't enlisting. Ah, crazy, look at their age... Also, there are still 13 years left before their enlistment

Screenshot 5:
Title of post: Why are CORTIS' fans so obsessed with age?

Have they decided to make attacking people based on age their go-to tactic whenever something isn't to their liking?

CORTIS fans' comments:
- Is it because that’s the easiest way to silence people? It seems like that's the general approach they've adopted

- People who are using HANRORO to hate on HYBE are OCC (T/N: CORTIS has a song called YCC (Young creator crew). Knets have adopted a term "늙크크" (Old creator crew) every time they want to discuss something outdated or label someone as a "boomer")
> Talking like that, taking jabs at an entertainment company, makes you look even more like an OCC
> Nothing is more OCC-behavior than being this deep in your own delusions…
> ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
> Seeing them hating on an entertainment company really makes them look like an OCC
> The comments reek...
> It's honestly disgusting seeing them shield a male idol this hard while reeking of this much old-person energy...

- Stop being so nitty picky about young people
> Do they look like their sons?ㅜㅜ
> When defending them, you always resort to "they’re just kids~" without any actual logic. You really sound like an overprotective boy's mom...
>> Seriously, you're so persistent... What exactly do you think CORTIS should have to hear?
> You only pull out the "they're young" excuse when you're defending male idols
> They're not even that young. Are you a boy's mom or what...
> Huh? I'mm not particularly trying to make them hear anything??? I'm just saying fangirls should stop making weird excuses to defend them and just stay quiet. Why are you the only one going off on a completely different tangent? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

original post: here

1. Fans of HYBE boy groups have that kind of vibe, I wonder why

2. ㅋㅋ there's a comment right below this one saying, "They're just a kid, so cut them some slack", it’s absolutely ridiculous

3. I thought they were around 13 or 14, but isn't that age about average for idols?

4. Why aren't we allowed to be HYBE haters? Are we supposed to like Bang Sihyuk?

5. They all reek of that "boy's mom" smell

6. How long are they going to keep harping on about age? In just a year, a flood of even younger idols will be debuting

7. I think the reason they keep harping on about age is that they're old themselves; people tend to obsess over the very thing they consider their biggest weakness

8. I watched a few clips of that male idol group, and I felt like my IQ was dropping just watching them; it completely turned me off. Between that and the recent lyric controversy, they really seem to have the most immature mindset and behavior among male idol groups

9. It's not like they're just ordinary high schoolers, they're making money writing such trashy lyrics. Does the fact that they're in high school mean we're supposed to just turn a blind eye and let it all slide?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ They aren't just random high school kids passing by, they're idols making money off the general public

10. It's fascinating because I didn't see this vibe when younger female idols were getting criticized

11. The sensibilities of boys' momsㅋㅋㅋㅋ

12. What, are they 10? They're just the typical age for an idol, yet CORTIS's fans are the only one who are so damn obsessed with age ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

13. Among 5th gen groups, there isn't a single one that writes lyrics like that and then hides behind the "age card" like they doㅜㅜ

14. No but, among current groups, they really have that vibe that appeals to "boys' moms". Maybe because fans who used to stan Bangtan have naturally shifted their affection toward them?

15. There are plenty of young people out there who are perfectly decent and know how to be polite, so why use age as an excuse for having terrible manners and no sense of shame?
