But at my old job, people were taking home around 2 million won ($1.4K) a month after taxes, yet they’d go to dermatology clinics, get their nails and hair done, and get eyelash extensions every single month.

They’d show me T-shirts they were debating whether to buy, costing over 100,000 won each ($75), and it wasn't like they were buying just one either

Plus, they had plans every weekend

I mean, it’s none of my business how others live, but... are they actually able to save any money?

1. Consumption is indeed in an upward trend

2. It really feels like we have excessive spending problems

3. You have to keep in mind that people like that often turn out to be born into wealth or own a home gifted to them by their parents

Otherwise, you might get swept up and end up overspending

Even without anything specific to fall back on, people seem to spend freely

10. They earn a decent salary but say they’ve given up on buying a home; meanwhile, they drop 10 million won at the dermatologist, order food delivery every day, and visit trendy Instagram-famous restaurants
