Singer K.Will (44, real name Kim Hyung-soo) revealed that he stopped using Mounjaro after losing 14 kg, as he began experiencing hair loss.
K.Will opened up about his concerns regarding hair loss in a video recently uploaded to his YouTube channel. "I’m not taking the [Mounjaro] injections anymore," he said. "I noticed my hair falling out as I lost weight."
He explained that while his hair was naturally fine to begin with, it had become even thinner. He added, "When I work out in the morning and sweat, my hair gets wet, and I can see the thinning areas."
Subsequently, a scalp examination confirmed that he was indeed experiencing the early stages of hair loss.
K.Will had previously revealed on YouTube last February that he lost 14 kg in about two months by combining Mounjaro use with diet and exercise.
While obesity treatments like Wegovy and Mounjaro have gained immense popularity in the weight-loss market, some users have reported side effects such as hair loss. What should be done in such cases?
Hair Loss After Mounjaro?… Rapid Weight Loss Likely a Factor
Hair loss following the use of obesity medications has been confirmed in clinical trials. According to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) review data on clinical trials for the obesity drug tirzepatide, hair loss was reported in 4.7% of the tirzepatide group, a higher rate than in the placebo group (0.8%). Similarly, hair loss was reported in 3.3% of patients treated with a 2.4mg dose of semaglutide (Wegovy).
However, experts explain that it is difficult to conclude that these obesity medications directly damage hair follicles to cause hair loss. Instead, it is highly likely that the physical stress and reduced nutritional intake associated with rapid weight loss are the contributing factors.

1. So, the hair loss wasn't caused by Mounjaro, it was just from dieting too aggressively
2. If you get enough protein, you won't lose your hair. I was showing signs of hair loss due to PCOS, but even after dropping from 80kg to 60kg in two months, my hair actually got thicker (though that was likely because the weight loss alleviated the PCOS, so it might not apply to the average case). But with Mounjaro, since the weight loss comes purely from appetite suppression, hair loss is 100% bound to happen... and K.Will isn't exactly at an age where he can just coast on his youth.
3. Drastic dieting often leads to hair loss, so you need to make sure you're getting enough nutrients
4. Even without Mounjaro, you'd experience hair loss if you lost that much weight that rapidly in a short period
5. That's not an issue with Mounjaro, that's just what happens when you lose that much weight. If you gain the weight back, your face will return to how it was
6. I'm about to start Mounjaro, so I need to make sure I get enough protein, got it.
7. This is your typical diet side effect
8. People around me, and I myself, have started losing hair, so those dealing with hair loss really need to give this some serious thought...
9. Rapid weight loss usually causes hair loss, so you need to make sure you get enough protein when taking Wegovy or Mounjaro, not eating enough can also lead to hair loss
10. I notice that people taking Mounjaro don't really eat properly, they mostly just skip meals. That's why the weight bounces right back as soon as they stop. Lately, people talk about staying on it for life, but can your body really stay healthy if you keep eating that little?
