EXID’s Hyelin opened up about the challenges of running a taco shop that generates 140 million won in monthly sales.

On the 19th, a video was uploaded to Cao Lu’s YouTube channel.

Sharing updates on her life, Hyelin revealed, "These days, I’m a 'multi-jobber.' I run a taco shop, perform in musicals, work as a DJ, and compose music."

Cao Lu remarked, "While browsing the internet in China, I saw news that Hyelin’s business was doing incredibly well," and asked, "How did you get started?"

Hyelin explained, "I’ve actually always been very interested in the food service industry. While attending a gathering, I met the owner of a taco place I frequent. They told me a great location had opened up in Anguk and suggested we go into business together, so that’s how I got started."

She also opened up about the challenges of running the business. "An employee can quit, but if the owner quits, the business fails," Hyelin said. "Since I juggle multiple jobs, it’s too much to handle alone, so I have someone else helping me manage things."

She added, "Still, the staff has a great sense of teamwork, whenever there are difficulties, they actively share their opinions and ideas, which is really helpful."

When asked about the secret to her success, Hyelin emphasized, "The location has to be good, and you need to carefully calculate the potential profit margins. I also love cooking, so I believe it has to be fun, too. Of course, you also have to factor in things like pricing and practical realities." She then jokingly added, "It’s tough because there are so many expenses involved, please support me!"

She also looked back on the days when she juggled part-time jobs. "Before 'Up & Down' became a hit, we were essentially unemployed," Hyelin said, revealing that she had worked various part-time jobs to cover living expenses even while active as a member of EXID.

Meanwhile, Hyelin opened a taco shop last March and has been running it since. Last month, she revealed on a YouTube channel, "Sales fluctuate, sometimes they're high, and sometimes they dip," adding, "On average, monthly revenue is 140 million won, and after deducting all expenses, the net profit is 40 million won (~29K USD)."
