On the 4th, Kwon Mina posted a lengthy message on her social media, asking, "What does 'family' mean? To me, only my mother remains as true family."
Mentioning both her late father and her older sister, she claimed to have suffered a prolonged conflict over financial issues within the family. She wrote regarding her sister, "She embezzled money belonging to me, my mother, and even an acquaintance of my mother, and then cut off all contact years ago."
She continued, "I had known about the embezzlement for a long time. I’m the type of person who doesn't draw strict lines between 'your money' and 'my money' within the family. If someone needed to use funds during a hard time and couldn't pay it back, a sincere apology or an admission of the situation would have been enough for me."
Kwon Mina stated that she only realized the full severity of the situation about two years ago while reviewing specific figures and asset details with her mother. She explained, "I grasped the gravity of the matter only after discovering that my mother's assets, my other bank accounts, and the money I had specifically given to my mother had all vanished."
She also revealed that she had personally covered the medical expenses for her older sister, who had battled breast cancer. Kwon Mina explained, "Breast cancer treatment is terrifying, and so is chemotherapy. I paid for everything out of my own pocket, from the medical treatment to the subsequent cosmetic surgery following the incision", adding that, at the time, she viewed it as something she was doing for her family.
However, she stated that the emotional rift between them deepened as she witnessed the conflict between her mother and her older sister. Kwon Mina claimed that her sister had told her boyfriend things about their mother that were untrue, and that her mother had happened to see those messages.
Kwon Mina harshly criticized her sister, stating, "My mother is the type of person who wouldn't even confront someone, whereas my sister was the kind of person who would snap at our mother if the table wasn't set early in the morning." She added, "If there are any lies in this post, Ms. Kwon XX, please contact me. I am ashamed that you are my sister."
