Recently, a video of Han Seung-yeon performing at Sogang University’s festival on the 18th spread online, drawing attention.
Han Seung-yeon took the stage with the other KARA members and performed some of the group’s hit songs, including “Pretty Girl,” “Honey,” “Lupin,” “Step,” and “Mister.”
However, Han Seung-yeon appeared to be physically struggling. As she performed the choreography with a visibly tense expression, it was difficult to see the charming eye-smile that had long been one of her trademarks. During some parts of the performance, she appeared to hold her lower back as if she were uncomfortable. During movements involving large upper-body motions, her neck appeared stiff, and she performed the choreography with an unnatural posture.
In response, online commenters left messages expressing concern and support, such as, “It looks like her cervical disc problem is pretty serious; treatment should come first,” “I’m in pain just watching her,” and “I hope she can return to the stage in good health.”
Han Seung-yeon had also raised concerns among fans over her health the previous month. While celebrating her birthday with fans, she was seen shaking her hands several times. Around the same time, footage of another performance showed her performing the choreography with a stiff upper body, prompting speculation about her health.
At the time, her agency, AER Entertainment, stated, “Han Seung-yeon’s cervical disc symptoms have recently worsened, which caused her hands to tremble. She is currently receiving treatment, and there are no other health issues.”
However, even after that explanation, Han Seung-yeon has continued to appear onstage showing signs of physical discomfort, leading to increasing calls from fans for her to prioritize her treatment.
