Actor Kim Soohyun made his first public appearance in Korea in about a year and a half following a controversy regarding his private life.

The '2026 The Fact Music Awards' (2026 TMA) took place on the afternoon of the 19th at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. Hosted by Jun Hyun-moo and Seohyun of Girls' Generation, the event drew attention when actor Kim Soohyun appeared as a presenter for the Popularity Award.

Kim Soohyun took the stage wearing an all-black suit, looking somewhat gaunt. His appearance was met with thunderous cheers from the audience; stepping out before a large crowd for the first time in a long while, he offered a cautious greeting, saying, "Hello, I am Kim Soo-hyun. It is a pleasure to see you all."

He continued, "I sincerely thank you for inviting me to the '2026 The Fact Music Awards' today. Although I am here as a presenter, I am also a listener who loves K-pop. K-pop, which has grown by capturing our emotions and stories, has transcended borders and languages to become a culture that fans worldwide enjoy, relate to, and connect through. This signifies the growing power of artists and their music."

He went on to share his thoughts, saying, "The award I am presenting is a special one, brought to life through the participation of fans around the world. Since it is an award created by the collective hearts and choices of global fans, I imagine it will be an especially meaningful moment for the recipients. I, too, am delighted to share in this glorious occasion." He then announced singer Lim Youngwoong as the winner of the Popularity Award and personally handed the trophy to him as he took the stage.
