"It's a movie about a modern female influencer who praises the tradwife (Tradwife, the 1950s housewife that inc**s talk about) going back in time to 1855. I'm already looking forward to it. 

It's just really... there are way too many women who can't even imagine an era when women couldn't own private property, had no property rights, inheritance rights, voting rights, or even the right to speak, and had absolutely no choices at all. 

There are too many people who don't even know the fact that all those rights for women weren't naturally given but had to be fought for... 

Even the f*ckers who went on about "natural human rights" were saying "but women are excluded"...."

Yesteryear

A story about a woman who, having admired traditional femininity and lived as a "trad-wife" influencer, is transported back in time to 1850s America and comes to face the harsh reality.


"Anne Hathaway will play a conservative influencer who wakes up in 1855.

In "Yesteryear," the character, known for advocating a lifestyle in which women should be homemakers and submissive to their husbands, is transported to 1855 and begins to live that reality in practice."

She’s playing someone who yearns for that traditional brand of femininity: staying home without a job to cook, raise a large brood of kids, wait for her husband, and be a supportive wife.

The reason this is so incredibly timely is that the "Tradwife" trend is absolutely huge right now.





Tradwives are going viral on social media platforms like TikTok, influencing young women leading to a huge rise in young women who are abandoning feminism and getting married at an early age.
It’s the same story in Korea, where there’s been an increase in influencers getting married young and obsessing over "marrying up."

It’s growing into an even bigger issue, especially in the US, as it becomes intertwined with religion and politics.
They’ve even gone so far as to voluntarily suggest that women’s voting rights should be revoked.





Natalie leads a traditional lifestyle, documenting it all on her Instagram account.
Her charming farmhouse sits in the middle of the fields, filled with quaint, lovely decor.
Her husband is a handsome cowboy, and the sourdough bread she bakes herself is nothing short of beautiful.
Yet, behind the scenes, there are nannies, producers, and industrial-grade ovens.

Then, one morning, Natalie wakes up to a strange and terrifying reality.
Her daughter tells her that the year is 1805. Is this a trick? A reality show? Or a test from God?

The protagonist is a famous influencer with millions of followers.
Her content centers on the "Tradwife" aesthetic; she gains immense popularity by wearing 19th-century-style dresses, baking bread, and portraying a simple life amidst nature.
Then, one day, an unexpected accident occurs during a shoot, and she is transported to the real America of 1855.

The 1855 that the lead encountered was nothing like what is shown in social media videos.
There are no washing machines, no antibiotics, and no refrigerators.
Women have no right to vote, either.
The daily tasks involve not baking bread, but chopping wood, drawing water from the well, tending to livestock, and endless housework.



At first, everything seemed romantic to Nathalie.
However, as time passed, she realized that the past was by no means a beautiful paradise.
In particular, the reality faced by women back then was vastly different from the "traditional female ideal" portrayed on social media.
Survival itself was the greatest challenge.

Honestly, with the rise of the "Tradwife" trend, men who hold deeply se**st views have become emboldened, so I really hope this movie becomes a huge hit and completely shatters that mindset.

5. A lot of those tradwife influencers have been falling out of the trend one after the other already. Anyways, I like how timely the movie is ㅋㅋㅋ

8. Even the original work made such a buzz, and the fact that Anne Hathaway is producing it too 

9. Wow this will be freaking entertaining
