According to reporting by MyDaily on the 23rd, Jung Yein has been cast as Cheon Jang-mi in Seasons 2 and 3 of the Netflix original series The Trauma Code 2.
The production team held auditions featuring numerous actors to fill the vacancy left by Ha Young (Ahn Ha-young), who stepped down from the role following a controversy regarding her family's pro-Japanese history; Jung Yein was ultimately selected. Sources stated that her performance during the audition was outstanding.
Jeong Yein will play the role of Cheon Jang-mi, a nurse on the severe trauma team and an indispensable character in the drama. She is a central figure who drives the story alongside Ju Jihoon, Chu Youngwoo, and Yoon Kyungho. The role was originally played by Ha Young in the first season, garnering significant popularity. However, a controversy arose when it was revealed that Ha Young’s great-grandfather was Ahn Sang-ho, a doctor who opened the first clinic in Hanyang but also served as a medical officer within the Japanese colonial administration and was a proponent of the "Naeseon-ilche" (Japan-Korea integration) policy.
