BIGBANG's World Tour at the Oakland Stadium in the US (today)
With absolutely no local US promotion and not a single English song,
every seat, including restricted-view seats, sold out within just 30 minutes of tickets going on sale
"The main show of BigBang's COSMOS World Tour at Oakland Stadium in the US sold out, including restricted seating, in just 30 minutes.
To illustrate just how remarkable this is, even active artists who have been consistent since the SNS boom era, with the exception of a few top-tier stars, cannot go on stadium tours. Most groups open tickets 6 months to a year in advance and fill them up slowly, and if they still don't sell, they resort to dumping.
However, BigBang opened tickets urgently just 2 months before the concert, did no promotion, and despite the ticket prices being higher, they sold out in 30 minutes.
Naturally, there was no dumping, which is why additional shows were added later. The show that opened first on September 4th was the additional show, and tomorrow, September 5th, is the main show.
Furthermore, considering there was a 10 year hiatus with no activities, albums, or tours, the fact that they suddenly sold out a world tour to stadium-level sales is something that naturally only BigBang does in K-pop, and since there was no such case overseas either, ticketing channels were in an uproar, calling it a first.
The main shows sold out, and the sales rate for the additional shows exceeded 80 percent. The additional shows were announced on B-Stage, visible only to fans, and were not promoted to the general public."
