While Seungri (36, real name Lee Seung-hyun), formerly of the group BIGBANG, has denied allegations of special assault, CCTV footage has captured him engaging in threatening behavior on multiple occasions.
Seungri was accused of special as***lt following an incident on the 25th of last month at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where he allegedly as***lted a man in his 30s with whom he was dining. On the 10th, he denied the charges via Ilgan Sports, acknowledging that he had held a liquor bottle but insisting there was no intent to threaten; he stated, "I will fully cooperate with investigative authorities to clarify the situation."
On the 23rd, JTBC released CCTV footage capturing the incident. The video shows Seungri engaging in threatening behavior, such as brandishing a soju bottle and kicking at objects.
The complainant described the situation, stating, "Three people stood there blocking the passageway so I couldn't leave, threatening me while brandishing a soju bottle." He added, "At one point, I tried to block and grab the bottle with my hand, and my hand was injured in the process. (Seungri) asked, 'Do you think I'm a loser, too?' and claimed, 'I have connections to organized crime; taking someone like you out would be nothing to me.'"
The police plan to question the complainant following the Chuseok holiday.
