[theqoo] THIS IS A TREND AMONG GENZ LATELY

"Rather than resolving conflicts they just easily distance themselves from that relationship"

"It seems more reasonable to view it as a shift toward individualism"

It’s not so much a trend as a conscious choice: they don’t drag out pointless connections, they cut ties immediately if a certain threshold is crossed, and they turn off birthday notifications to avoid the obligation of exchanging unnecessary favors or gifts.

They say it’s because they form and break connections easily online, rather than bonding through established groups (interestingly, GenZ actually has a larger number of acquaintances than other generations, but fewer actual "friends")
I’m exactly like that too ㅋㅋㅋ It’s something that changed after I hit my 30s, though. Back in my 20s, I used to take pride in having so many friends, it’s funny how things changeㅋㅋㅋ

original post: here

1. I'm finally part of a trend

2. So I'm a GenZ...

3. Even in schools with 30 students per class, it’s like that... With the credit-based system requiring students to constantly move between classrooms, there’s little sense of belonging to a specific class; plus, kids these days find the whole "herding together to socialize" thing more of a hassle compared to previous generations

4. I knew I was a GenZ

5. As long as their social skills don't suffer, I guess it's fine... but don't you think kids these days grow up too fast? I’m pretty jaded myself, but that’s only after going through so much ㅜㅜ I wasn't like this from the start. Still, looking back, I feel like there really wasn't a need to constantly do things for others or with othersㅜㅜㅜ

6. People seem to be retreating into an insular, almost autistic state, deliberately shunning social interaction because it feels exhausting and bothersome

7. Basically nobody has friends anymore

8. I used to be like that when I was young, but looks like the world is catching up on me

9. Because we lack so much sociability, it actually became a trend

10. What the? I became a trendsetter
