[enter-talk] IS A2O CONSIDERED K-POP?

I look at them more like Chinese idols
But a lot of people consider them K-pop idols
Are Chinese idols trying to ride off K-pop?

I’m disappointed in grandpa Sooman. When I heard a Korean girl group was being launched, it was the first time I actually felt excited about a group from a major agency. But the centers and key positions are all taken by Chinese and Japanese members, how is this even a Korean group? The proportion of foreign members is overwhelming. They should know better than anyone why K-pop is losing steam, are they just trying to spite the Korean public?

If you look at it, they're 3 Koreans, 3 Chinese and the rest are a mix of SEA and mixed people. There's no chance I can view them as K-pop. Chinese idols will piggyback K-pop and later switch and call it C-pop ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Even Lee Sooman himself doesn't call it K-pop but Asian pop

No but they're C-pop and Chinese idols
"Lee Sooman: "Goal: To become the world's #1 Korean entertainment company... Let's drop the 'K' and go beyond the Korean Wave""

It’s not just Melon that the Chinese have infiltrated; they’ve also swarmed Spotify, a service banned in their own country, and severely polluted the global charts

That group isn't K-pop; it's from a Singaporean company that is essentially a Chinese entertainment venture. China used its financial power to bring in Lee Soo-man and create the group specifically to revive C-pop. Even Lee Sooman doesn't call it K-pop. China's strategy is to gradually erase the K-pop label, rebrand it as "Asian Pop," and then ultimately transition it into C-pop
