An exhibition inspired by the debut solo album of singer-actor T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun), which was being organized by his fan page, has ultimately been cancelled.
On the 4th, T.O.P’s fan page, "CHOIDOT," announced via its official social media channels the cancellation of the "OFF GRID: NEW GROUND" exhibition, which had been scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 1.
CHOIDOT explained, "We have traditionally prepared events by estimating the scale based on actual attendance figures from previous years." They added, "This year, taking into account tour schedules and the various circumstances of the fans, we planned for a smaller scale than usual, targeting a total of 300 attendees across the two days."
They stated, "After reservations opened, the actual number of applicants remained at only about 25% of the projected figure," adding, "Although we had already finalized the venue rental contract and paid the deposit, we intended to proceed as planned to honor our commitment to those who had signed up."
However, they continued, "As existing registrants kept cancelling, the expected number of attendees dropped to just 10-15% of the originally planned daily capacity. We determined that, with the current number of participants, it would be difficult to operate the exhibition properly in its intended format and scale, so we decided to cancel it."
This exhibition was conceived as a photography showcase inspired by T.O.P’s first full-length solo album, 'ANOTHER DIMENSION'. It was designed to reinterpret the album's 11 tracks through distinct spaces and concepts, allowing fans to personally experience the music and the stories behind it.
Notably, the event was designed around the concept of embarking on a journey to a new dimension aboard the spaceship "MOJIRI," featuring various interactive spaces and fan-participation programs.
Choi Seung-hyun Dotcom stated, "We are aware that many overseas fans had planned to visit Korea for this exhibition," adding, "We wanted to provide this notice as quickly as possible to minimize any further inconvenience regarding travel arrangements such as flights and accommodation."
They continued, "As this exhibition was the result of extensive preparation, this decision is deeply regrettable and weighs heavily on us," and added, "We sincerely apologize to everyone who made reservations and looked forward to the event."
Meanwhile, T.O.P recently confirmed his relationship with actress Nana. Agencies representing both parties stated that the two became acquainted while filming a music video and began dating around June.

What's the point of having fans? It’s all just smoke and mirrors. Since things have turned out this way, let's just get married. Be happy!
