The company's policy is to discard all unsold donuts at the end of the day, donating them to the homeless could lead to lawsuits over food poisoning, so they are strictly thrown away.
original post: here
1. If they're throwing them out by the boxload, I’d probably wander over and pick one up myself
2. No need to feel bad about it. They throw them out cleanly on purpose so homeless people can take them all. (They used to donate them, but stopped after getting sued because someone got sick from eating them)
> That's a relief... So that explains the photos showing them wrapped in bags before disposal
3. They should just make a law stating that the individual is responsible for anything delivered within a certain timeframe, what is this situation?
4. I want to pick one up and eat it
5. Just make a reasonable amount, please ã… ã…
6. They purposely throw them out in boxes knowing they'd be picked up though
7. It's a relief that the people who actually want to eat it are taking it ã… ã…
8. Are they living on this earth alone?
9. So, people are intentionally leaving things for the homeless to take, a culture of sorts has developed
10. Donuts really don't spoil, but since they're fried and covered in sugar
