Lee Jun-young = Jeong-yo (a poor genius) / Song Kang = Bio (a prodigy from a chaebol family)
Jeong-yo entered a piano competition together with Bio.
(>> And Jeong-yo only entered because Bio asked him to participate with him.
The reason: Bio’s grandfather is a conductor. Bio wants to earn his grandfather’s recognition and eventually perform together with him, but his grandfather wants to perform with Jeong-yo instead.
Bio thinks that if he wins the competition, his grandfather will finally recognize him.)
Bio’s mother arranges for Jeong-yo to be kidnapped,
and Jeong-yo gets shot in the shoulder, damaging the nerves in his shoulder so badly that he can no longer play the piano...
(>> Jeong-yo thinks Bio, not Bio’s mother, is the one who ordered his kidnapping. He hears from the kidnapper that Bio ordered it, and Bio also claims that he was the one who did it in order to cover up his mother’s crime.)
Jeong-yo comes back after becoming a successful conductor because he wants revenge.
But then he finds out that Bio wasn’t actually the culprit, it was Bio’s mother.
Jeong-yo regrets everything and apologizes to Bio.
(>>>> YOU were the victim, you fool.)
When Bio feels so guilty that he decides he doesn’t want to play the piano anymore,
Jeong-yo tries to ease Bio’s guilt. He even gets injections at the hospital so that he can temporarily play the piano again, then plays for Bio to help relieve his guilt and gets him to start playing the piano again.
And eventually, Jeong-yo’s hand starts becoming paralyzed again, because of course, and he can’t even continue being a conductor.
Meanwhile, Bio’s mother serves 3 years in prison and gets out.
Her friend, her son, and her ex-boyfriend (who is also Bio and Jeong-yo’s teacher) all come to greet her. She hugs her son, and her ex-boyfriend even confesses his love to her.
And Jeong-yo gets a freaking monk ending.
So basically, the perpetrator gets to live happily ever after,
while the victim loses his dream, loses the use of his hand, and basically loses f*cking everything.
original post: here
1. Hul crazy, what was the monk ending?
2. That Jeong-yo character just seems pitiful
3. A lot of fans were really looking forward to this before it came out, so it's a shame
4. I love every aspect of their relationship, the misunderstandings, the love-hate dynamic, and the shared sense of pity. However, I feel that the storyline regarding Bio's mother either shouldn't have been included at all, or it should have ended in a truly harrowing way
5. They basically pulled a Sky Castle
6. It’s just too cruel to Jeong-yo, who is already a struggling genius. What is with the plot point about a genius suffering from hand paralysis? I don't know if the writer is older or what, but it feels like Bio's mom is the main character...
7. What's up with the monk ending?ã…‹ã…‹It was so random
8. I heard a lot of people enjoyed it
9. What is this
10. The victim losing everything and becoming a monk seriously ruined my mood
