A fan exhibition scheduled to commemorate the solo album of TOP (real name Choi Seung-hyun), formerly of the group BIGBANG, has ultimately been cancelled. This news comes just two days after he confirmed his relationship with Nana.
"Choi Seung-hyun Dot Com," a domestic fan site dedicated to TOP, announced via its official account on the 4th that it was cancelling the exhibition originally scheduled for October 31 and November 1. This event was the fan site's first photography exhibition, organized with inspiration drawn from TOP's first full-length solo album, 'ANOTHER DIMENSION', which was released last April.
The cancellation was due to low reservation numbers. The fan site explained, "We have traditionally prepared for events by estimating the scale based on actual attendance at previous ones," adding, "This year, taking into account the ongoing tour schedule and the various circumstances of our fans, we scaled down the event compared to previous years, planning the exhibition for a total of 300 attendees across two days." However, when reservations opened, the number of applicants fell short of even 100. The fan site noted, "The turnout was only about 25% of the projected scale."

The contract for the exhibition venue had already been signed, and the deposit paid. Although the fan site organizers had intended to proceed with the event despite potential financial losses, the situation subsequently deteriorated. They reported that a continuous stream of cancellation requests from existing ticket holders, spanning yesterday and today, had caused the projected attendance to drop to just 10-15% of the figures originally planned for a single day.
"We explored various options to somehow move forward with the exhibition, but we concluded that with the current number of attendees, it would be difficult to operate the event properly at the scale and in the format we had originally planned and prepared for," the organizers explained. "As this exhibition was the result of long and careful preparation, this decision is deeply regrettable and weighs heavily on us." They also offered a sincere apology to those who had made reservations.
The surge in reservation cancellations coincides with the timing of TOP’s announcement regarding his romantic relationship. On the 2nd, TOP confirmed that he is dating Nana. The two grew close after appearing together in the music video for "Totally Crazy! (Studio54)," a double title track from TOP’s first full-length album. TOP’s agency, Top Spot Pictures, stated, "They grew closer afterward and developed a romantic relationship around last June," while Nana’s agency, Sublime, also confirmed, "They are currently seeing each other." Consequently, some speculate that the exhibition cancellations might be a fallout from the public revelation of their relationship.
