[PC stories/KPOP takes] BECOMING AN IDOL AS A POOR PERSON IS A THING OF THE PAST

 

I’ve noticed how in 4th gen, and in the entertainment industry in general, pretty much all idols come from rich families. In the past there were idols like Sunmi, Taehyung, or IU who came from less fortunate backgrounds yet still pursued music. Nowadays I feel like it’s just not a thing anymore. And it’s not only idols from big companies, but also smaller companies have only people who come from wealthy families. Of course the trainee lifestyle is hard to manage if your family isn’t wealthy, but idk I love an inspiring rags to riches story. They also have the best personalities and just hearing how well they take care of their families once they’ve succeed always pulls at my heartstrings. :(
