The late actress Kim Saeron was confirmed to have dated a famous idol group member around 2018, adding complexity to the timeline of her relationships. While her family had previously stated that she was in a relationship with actor Kim Soohyun from 2015 to 2021, questions have arisen due to overlapping timelines with other men.
According to an investigation by Money Today on the 21st, Kim Saeron was in a relationship with an older, well-known idol member, referred to as 'A,' around 2018. The two reportedly broke up briefly in early 2019 but reunited in early to mid-2022, around the time Kim was dealing with the fallout of her DUI incident. During this period, A is said to have lent Kim a large sum of money to help her through financial difficulties.
Kim did not keep the relationship secret, introducing A as her boyfriend to acquaintances. Though they broke up in early 2023, they are said to have stayed in touch until last year.
An industry insider stated, "Kim Saeron continued seeing A as a friend after their breakup. The mention of their relationship is solely to clarify the timeline regarding Kim Soohyun, and we don't want to see any indiscriminate digging into A's personal life."
In March, the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute claimed Kim Saeron dated Kim Soohyun from late 2015, when she was in middle school, until July 2021. However, that claim turned out to be false. Kim dated A from 2019, and also dated singer WOODZ between 2021 and 2022. She reportedly had different boyfriends in both 2016 and 2018.
Kim Soohyun, for his part, was said to have been in a relationship with a former idol-turned-actress from 2016 to 2019, not with Kim Saeron.
