On June 8, the group used a shuttle train at Incheon International Airport to depart for China. When a woman carrying a so-called "bazooka camera" (a term often used for large camera lenses used by stalker fans or paparazzi) collided with one of the members, a security guard forcefully pushed the woman by the neck, elbowed her in the face, and shouted at her.
The incident was caught on video and quickly spread online. It was also reported on JTBC's Incident Chief on June 10. According to the report, the security guard shouted, “Are you crazy? Why are you hitting the members?” The woman responded, “I have to go too,” and “I have a boarding pass.” The altercation reportedly continued inside the airport shuttle train.
Incident Chief also relayed a statement from SM Entertainment. The agency explained, “At the departure site, a so-called ‘sasaeng’ persistently pushed and tried to make physical contact with the members from the airport entrance. During the process of restraining her, the security guard momentarily used physical force.”
SM continued, “We acknowledge that the response was excessive, and we have filed a complaint with the security company and demanded measures to prevent recurrence. We sincerely apologize for the concern caused and will work harder to maintain order in public spaces when our artists are on the move.”
This isn’t the first time Hearts2Hearts has faced such an issue. Back in March, a similar incident occurred at Gimpo International Airport when fans and security guards got entangled, causing significant chaos. A video of a frustrated traveler shouting profanities due to the disruption circulated widely, placing the group at the center of another controversy.
