In Korea, if you go for s*x appeal, it's just seen as provocative
In the U.S., you need that to become a star
I think that's one of the reasons K-pop remains relatively niche in the U.S.
People may disagree, but I actually think Bangtan did manage to succeed to some extent with s*x appeal too
original post: here
1. What vibe does Bangtan have?? I'm really asking because I don't know
2. Is that why 1D were ridiculed in their early formation?
3. Being s*xy is important but I feel like they are even more sensitive about p***s
4. Not sure about Bangtan's s*x appeal but wearing makeup and pink clothes probably appealed to people because it contrasted with macho culture. The 'Love Yourself' message really resonated well
5. Bangtan? I guess that our opinion might differ but I don't think they have s*x appeal🤔
6. Bangtan? Where....? Can someone explain?
7. Bangtan didn't hit big because of s*x appeal but because of their "Love Myself" lyrics which resonnates well with the audience overseas
8. I can't agree with your last sentence but I can someone agree with your point. All of the recent female singers succeeded after changing their concept
9. Not sure about Bangtan but if you look at their solos, I do think that you're rightã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
10. I can agree with part of OP's point
