Park Seo Joon's side has stepped up to clarify misinformation involving his lawsuit against a restaurant using his image for advertisement without permission.
Previously, it was reported that Park Seo Joon had demanded 6 billion KRW (~ 4.4 million USD) in damages from a restaurant owner for the unauthorized use of his image. However, according to the actor's label Awesome ENT, "We have asked the restaurant in question to stop using images of Park Seo Joon online and in print for years since 2019. The restaurant initially responded by taking down the images for some time, then proceeded to use the images again, eventually ignoring our requests altogether. Therefore, there was no other choice but to handle the matters legally. The estimated damages from the unauthorized use of Park Seo Joon's image for advertisement purposes is approximately 600 million KRW. However, with the restaurant's circumstances in mind, we demanded 60 million KRW (~ 44,000 USD)."
Awesome ENT also warned legal repercussions against those directing harsh criticism toward Park Seo Joon for his "massive lawsuit against a small business," explaining that the court had declared Park Seo Joon's lawsuit valid and ruled in favor of the actor. The actual damages amount fined to the restaurant owner during the court's decision was in fact 5 million KRW (~ 3,700 USD).
It's known that Park Seo Joon previously ate gejang (marinated fermented crab) at the restaurant in question during a scene in the drama 'What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?'. Since then, the restaurant has advertised the particular scene from the drama without proper consent.

1. If it was 60 million, I can see why....
2. From now on, it seems like he shouldn't do any sponsorships. If he says he doesn't want his sponsored content used as clips, of course we should respect thatㅇㅇ
3. Why is Park Seojoon getting hate over this? The person who owns the portrait rights said they don't like it. If they keep refusing to take it down despite repeated requests, what else can you do but sue them?
4. I don't care about Park Seojoon but anyone can tell that this was the restaurant's mistake;
5. I don't understand why Park Seojoon is receiving hate here. Is it because people think that 6 billion is a lot so they are hating on him? It's completely the restaurant's fault here
6. What is he gonna do about his image....
7. I'm curious.... if he asked them to take it down and they didn't want to, what else was he supposed to do?
8. They call this a "malicious act"?? Seriously funny
9. I can't understand why Park Seojoon is getting hate over this
10. Being a celebrity is so easy, seriously
