[theqoo] [EXCLUSIVE] CELEBRITY SA CASE 'NOT GUILTY'... WAS THERE INTERVENTION FROM THE POLICE?

A close associate of Geonjin Beopsa (South Korean political broker and pseudo-monk, real name Jeon Seong-bae), referred to as  A, reportedly testified in detail to the prosecution and the special investigation team that he witnessed Prosecutor B speaking with Geonjin Beopsa regarding a celebrity SA case he was handling at the time.

According to A’s testimony, it was confirmed that the prosecutor in question was indeed in charge of the celebrity case and ultimately decided not to indict.

A also stated to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office and the special investigation team that he personally heard a conversation between Jeon Seong-bae and Prosecutor B when he saw them together for the second time at Jeon's temple.

A specifically recalled that Jeon and Prosecutor B discussed the celebrity sexual assault case.

According to his testimony, when Jeon asked Prosecutor B, “What kind of cases are you handling these days?” Prosecutor B replied, “I’m in charge of a SA case involving a famous celebrity, C.”

 A further testified that Prosecutor B initially said C should be detained, but when Jeon asked, “What if I tell you not to indict him?” the prosecutor responded, “If you, sir, say not to, then I won’t.”

A also stated that during their conversation, Jeon even asked him whether he knew anyone at the entertainment agency representing C.

In reality, the police forwarded the case involving Celebrity C’s SA allegations to the prosecution in 2017 with a recommendation for indictment. However, according to SBS’s investigation, Prosecutor B dropped the charges in early 2018.

In response, Prosecutor B admitted to visiting Geonjin Beopsa’s temple twice for fortune-telling, but denied ever discussing the case and claimed the celebrity case was handled strictly by the book.

Jeon’s side asserted that he never intervened in the case. Celebrity C’s side also stated that they had nothing to hide, had no reason to seek favors, and were not acquainted with Geonjin Beopsa.
