These days, HYBE and Bang Sihyuk have become the ultimate targets of demonization.

Currently, HYBE, arguably the most criticized company in the industry, is at the forefront of enhancing K-pop’s global competitiveness.
Bang Sihyuk led the BTS project as executive producer and achieved results that will go down in history.
He is the key contributor to the globalization of K-pop. He determined BTS’s identity, direction, and even participated in songwriting.
Even just that is a monumental achievement, but what’s truly remarkable is that he took it a step further.
He expanded BTS’s success into a “system” with international competitiveness. He established a multi-label system that doesn’t rely on a single group. Through overseas ventures, he also succeeded with artists like KATSEYE.
With achievements of this magnitude, a normal society would be asking, “How can we recognize and support these individuals?”
But our society does the opposite, it only attacks. How should we interpret this?
When it comes to other major export companies, people consider both their pros and cons. But when it comes to large entertainment agencies, the focus tends to be solely on the negative.
Of course, if there are legal issues involved, we must wait for the outcome of investigations or court rulings.
The real problem is that even in such cases, the media and public prematurely condemn people as if they’re criminals and begin criticizing right away.
It feels like they’re being treated almost like mortal enemies.

Take K-pop Demon Hunters for example, it’s a project funded by foreign capital. We’re now at a point where we must seriously compete with overseas capital.
At times like this, support and encouragement for major domestic agencies that act as frontline players is necessary.
Since these companies demonstrate the power to elevate our national brand value as a whole, there needs to be backing at the national level.
When we talk about support, people usually think only of fine arts or niche genres, but there needs to be a shift in mindset to include major entertainment agencies as well. These agencies, while big within Korea, are still newcomers on the global stage.
They’re not yet the kind of dominant forces that warrant constant checks and restraints. We must wisely support the continued reproduction of the miracles that SM, YG, JYP, and HYBE have created.
