The Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Agreement Division 41 (Presiding Judge Jeong Hoe-il) held the second mediation session from 1:30 p.m. to 1:48 p.m. that day, but as both parties ultimately failed to reach an agreement, the court declared the mediation unsuccessful and concluded the session.
As a result, both sides will now await the court’s ruling, scheduled to be delivered at 9:50 a.m. on the 30th of next month.

In connection with this case, the court had already accepted ADOR’s request for an indirect compulsory order on May 29, ruling that NewJeans must not engage in entertainment activities without ADOR’s prior approval or consent until the first-instance verdict on the exclusive contract is delivered. If the group violates this obligation and proceeds with independent activities, they must pay ADOR 1 billion won (~ 760,000 USD) per violation per member.
Given ADOR’s consecutive legal wins, there is growing speculation that the court’s decision in the exclusive contract dispute may also favor ADOR.
