The behavior of the group NCT DREAM was unpleasant to watch, while DAY6’s YoungK displayed true professionalism.
Although NCT DREAM promised more mature promotions now that all the members are adults, they failed to live up to their age. In contrast, Young K, who sat in the radio DJ’s seat, maintained a professional attitude and showed admirable character.
On the 1st, NCT DREAM appeared on KBS CoolFM’s DAY6’s Kiss the Radio, and during the broadcast they became the center of controversy for showing an insincere and unserious attitude.
Mark and Chenle kept messing around with each other the whole time, acting distractingly and disrupting the atmosphere. On top of that, they imitated YoungK’s actions, giggling and laughing. Jaemin gave short, curt answers to questions or rambled off-topic, putting YoungK in an awkward position. At one point, Chenle even suddenly snapped at Jisung and got angry at him during a mini-game.
Watching NCT DREAM throughout the broadcast was uncomfortable. Was it too much to expect professionalism from an idol group in their sixth year? This was exactly the kind of situation where the saying “it makes you frown” applies.
Young K debuted about eight months earlier than NCT DREAM, making him technically their senior. It’s not that anyone expected them to act deferentially. But fulfilling one’s role properly on a program, when appearing as a guest panel, is a basic responsibility, not just as an idol but as a broadcaster. NCT DREAM giving half-hearted answers, pointing fingers at YoungK, copying him, and laughing among themselves looked like nothing more than immature behavior from young stars.
NCT DREAM’s disrespectful behavior continued.
He expressed his gratitude to NCT DREAM for appearing on his show and thanked them for their work as both colleagues and juniors. Even at that moment, NCT DREAM were laughing among themselves, seemingly paying no attention to YoungK.
