"Hello.

This is ADOR.

We would like to inform you about the legal measures we are taking to protect NewJeans’ rights.

We regularly monitor domestic and international websites, music platforms, and social media channels, and take prompt deletion requests along with strict legal action against malicious online posts targeting the artists. The same response is applied without exception including websites based overseas.

As the severity of malicious posts targeting the artist—including fake news, invasion of privacy, malicious insults, and derogatory terms—has increased. We added more monitoring staff and performed a thorough evidence collection. We plan to promptly file a criminal complaint this month against individuals who have posted malicious content on online sites such as Naver News, DC Inside, Instiz, Nate Pann, MLB Park, The Qoo, and others. Additional complaints will also be filed in the near future as further evidence is secured.

Furthermore, we are also continuing to respond strongly to deepfake crimes. Recently, perpetrators requested settlements, but we firmly rejected it, and urged for severe punishment. In addition, we are taking active measures in cooperation with the authorities to eradicate deepfake crimes targeting our artists.

[theqoo] TEAM BUNNIES' LEGAL ACTION AGAINST NEWJEANS' HATE COMMENTS + CLARIFICATION ABOUT DONATIONS

"Hello. This is Team Bunnies.

Based on reports of malicious posts targeting NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) received to date, we have been continuously pursuing legal action in collaboration with their legal representatives, Sejong LLC and NewLawyer Law Firm. Recent cases have also been fully identified and transferred to the respective police stations, with procedures currently underway.

Various dispositions have been imposed on malicious post authors following prosecution referrals, including summary fines, conditional prosecution with educational requirements, and formal indictments. Where allegations are confirmed, all possible measures will be pursued.

Particularly, content that can cause permanent harm, such as racial discrimination, sexual harassment, and insults, cannot be justified under any circumstances. Therefore, posts of high severity were classified separately and processed as swiftly as possible.

The platform breakdown of complaints received is as follows: TheQoo 31.11%, FmKorea 22.96%, Others 20%, Naver 14.44%, DC Inside 11.48%. The disposition results were summary fines 41.74%, prosecution deferred with educational requirements 30.79%, prosecution 20.04%, and others 7.42%, with summary fines constituting the highest proportion.

Additionally, in early 2025, two cases involving allegations of violating the Act on the Collection and Use of Funds for Public Interest Purposes were filed against Team Bunnyz through the National Petition System, leading to investigations by the Jongam Police Station and Hwaseong Seobu Police Station. Subsequently, after being referred to the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office, all details regarding the use of funds, receipts, and the circumstances of the case were submitted. The two cases were consolidated into one. The Seoul Family Court also reviewed the case with the same intent, acknowledging the ‘use for a good purpose’ and the ‘appropriateness of the usage details’. The case was concluded under Protective Disposition No. 1 in early September, approximately two months before the case was reported.
