[theqoo] JAPANESE K-POP DRAMA THAT JAPAN AND CJ MADE TOGETHER

Airing on Japan’s TBS

From left: Iwase Yoji (popular rising Japanese male actor), Lee Yikyung, Nakamura Tomoya, Ikeda Elaiza, Ha Yeonsoo

Synopsis:
The TBS Friday drama DREAM STAGE is set in the world of K-pop and tells the story of a producer who was pushed out of the industry and seven Korean trainees. Crossing generations and nationalities, they form a passionate bond as they move toward their shared dream.

So basically, there's a top-tier major agency group whose center is a Japanese member, with more than half the group being Japanese, and the story is about a genius Japanese producer who came from Japan and produces trainees from a small Korean agency... what is this...?

Cast / Roles:
- Genius producer: Nakamura Tomoya
- Trainees from a small Korean agency: NAZE
- Rival major-agency group: TORINNER
- CEO of the small agency: Ha Yeonsoo
- NAZE’s manager: Ikeda Elaiza
- Charismatic K-pop industry executive: Lee Yikyung
- TORINNER’s producer: Kim Jaekyung

It's kind of a K-pop group, and anyway the lineup is four Koreans, two Japanese, and one Thai. Since it's a Korea-Japan co-production, it feels like they combined not just the actors but also K-pop stylists, and even the technical know-how and human resources for things like filming in-story teaser videos

The funny thing about the rival group is that it's a Korean company group, but it seems to consist of three Japanese members, one Korean member, and one American member...

This work is a Korea-Japan co-production drama jointly produced by CJ ENM and Japan's TBS.

One-line summary: It's K-pop, but a genius Japanese male producer comes to create a group to rival one where over half the members are Japanese...

Through CJ's technical collaboration, they're already showing teaser videos for the groups appearing there, along with group documentaries? Variety shows? And other supplementary content

original post: here

1. F*cking Japan + Lee Yikyungㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I'm not watching this

2. CJ should just fail

3. Freaking hate this....

4. Seriously, I honestly hate this. This is so on-brand with Japan. Aren't they tired of using us?

5. I feel like their rival group will get more momentum than the main group though... I don't know what the point of this drama is

6. Why "K-pop"? Just be confident and use J-pop

7. CJ, let's get in our right minds... why are they trolling so hard lately? Even with their variety shows...

8. This is so f*cked upㅋㅋㅋㅋ

9. How is this "K-pop"?? It should be J-pop

10. Lee Yikyungㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Who's gonna watch this?
