[theqoo] [EXCLUSIVE] BTS TO HOLD THEIR COMEBACK CONCERT AT GWANGHWAMUN SQUARE... WILL IT SHINE AS K-POP'S BIRTHPLACE?

BTS is currently pushing ahead with plans to hold their first comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square.

BTS is set to return as a full group on March 20th, and it has been confirmed that they will hold their comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square.

This will be BTS's first full-group performance in Korea ahead of their large-scale world tour, which begins in April.

HYBE prioritized Gwanghwamun Square as a venue to meaningfully showcase BTS's comeback. They recently applied for permission to use Gwanghwamun Square, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the Sungnyemun Gate area, and are currently in discussions with relevant organizations, including the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the police, and the National Heritage Administration.

They have applied to the National Heritage Administration for permission to use and film locations including Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Sungnyemun Gate area.

The Cultural Heritage Committee, meeting tomorrow (the 20th) at 2:00 PM, will deliberate on the matter.

HYBE applied for permission to use the venue, calling the performance "K-Heritage and K-POP Fusion Performance." The venues include Gyeongbokgung Palace, Gwanghwamun, the Gwanghwamun Woldae area, and Sungnyemun Gate.

They also applied for permission to use Gwanghwamun Square. While the exact attendance limit has not been determined, they plan to select between 15,000 and 20,000 attendees through pre-registration.

The performance is planned to be free.

We are considering the 20th, the day of the return, and the following weekend, the 21st and 22nd.

Gwanghwamun Square, in particular, is a space that showcases Korea's identity, hosting spontaneous citizen rallies and World Cup cheering events.

The upcoming fifth full-length album, "Arirang," embodies the identity and roots of BTS, a group that originated in Korea, and the search for a venue that truly embodies this spirit is underway.

Once finalized, some predict that BTS's global comeback stage, which will draw global attention, will highlight iconic Korean venues like Gwanghwamun Square, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Sungnyemun Gate as new meccas for K-pop.

With tens of thousands of attendees expected on the day of the concert, HYBE will likely prioritize safety measures.

While pre-registration will be required to limit the number of participants, the possibility of fans gathering in the nearby Gwanghwamun Square cannot be ruled out, as it is an open space.

HYBE, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and the police are estimating the expected crowd size and discussing safety measures accordingly.

The organizers, while seeking cooperation from the police and increasing the number of safety personnel, adhered to the conditions of use and successfully concluded the event without any major incidents.

When applying to use Gyeongbokgung Palace and Sungnyemun Gate, Hive stated, "We prioritize 'preservation of the original heritage' and 'citizen safety'," and added, "We will establish an on-site management system centered on skilled professionals and thoroughly implement heritage protection measures and crowd safety management manuals to responsibly promote this as an exemplary use case."

1. So cool, I want to go, but it'll be hard no?

2. Didn't SEVENTEEN perform at Jamsugyo? Is HYBE using Seoul by themselves?

3. They really are promoting well

4. Please do it in the weekday, there are so many protests in the weekend...

5. Please do it in the weekend ã… ã…

6. Wouldn’t things like a control plan be in the application? If it gets approved, they’ll probably have a lot of meetings with Seoul city officials. Since there are often protests or events at Gwanghwamun, there should be people who already have the know-how for managing and controlling things there

7. Is this a national project?

8. So they're not gonna promote on music shows?

9. I'm not even a BTS fan and I'm looking forward

10 .Wow I want to go
