It has been determined that K-pop’s popular male singer A has a child born in the second half of 2022. It has not been confirmed whether legal acknowledgment of paternity has taken place, raising concerns that the matter is directly tied to the child’s legal rights.
According to MHN Sports’ investigation, A has a child with a woman he was previously in a relationship with.
Materials obtained by the publication reportedly include details about the circumstances at the time of birth, along with content indicating acknowledgment of paternity. However, it has not been officially confirmed whether the child is registered with the father listed on the family registry, or whether formal legal acknowledgment procedures have been completed.
The child is believed to have been born in the latter half of 2022. Based on this timeline, the child is estimated to be in the latter part of three years old.
According to multiple sources close to A, he has reportedly been providing a certain level of financial support related to child-rearing. However, the specific amount and calculation standards have not been confirmed. It is also unclear whether formal acknowledgment under legal procedures or an official child support agreement has been reached.
Providing financial support and establishing a legal parent-child relationship are separate matters. Under current civil law, for a child born outside of marriage, a legal father-child relationship is established only through formal acknowledgment by the biological father. If acknowledgment does not take place, significant rights (such as inheritance rights, parental authority, and consent for medical decisions) may remain legally unprotected.
A family law attorney explained, “Whether acknowledgment has occurred is not merely an issue between the parents but is directly connected to the child’s legal status,” adding that “the fact of financial support alone does not necessarily mean that legal responsibilities have been fully resolved.”
Some in the legal community also point out that if a new marriage is formed while the legal relationship with a child born outside of marriage has not been clearly established, it may be difficult to rule out the possibility of future civil disputes or legal liability issues.
In particular, if the existence of the child was not shared in advance, it could potentially lead to issues of trust within the marital relationship.
While the private lives of public figures may be considered deserving of protection, there is also a view that when they continue activities closely tied to a commercial image, questions of responsibility cannot be entirely excluded from public discussion.
This case is once again bringing attention to the protection of the rights of children born outside of marriage and the fulfillment of parents’ legal responsibilities. As it concerns a minor, there are also calls for a cautious approach.
Additional facts related to the matter will be reported as they are confirmed.
