[theqoo] LEE MIJOO, GRILLING 2 PIECES OF PORK BELLY "VERANDA COOKING" DEBATE OVER NUISANCE

"Because of the smell?????"
"Yes yes, I got it"
*That emoticon seriously....*

Former Lovelyz member Lee Mijoo has unexpectedly found herself at the center of an “etiquette controversy” after posting a photo of a pork belly party on her balcony. Rather than focusing on her “small eater” image, grilling only two pieces of pork belly, many netizens reacted sharply to the act of grilling meat on the balcony of a shared apartment building itself.

On the 15th, Lee Mijoo posted a photo on her social media with the caption, “Title: On the balcony.” The photo shows her grilling pork belly on a small grill set up on the balcony.

However, what really caught people’s attention was the “super mini” meal on the grill, just two slices of pork belly, half a mushroom, and some garlic.

STAYC member Jaeyoon commented in surprise, “Unnie, why are you only eating two pieces?” Even Mijoo’s own older sister scolded her, saying, “There won’t even be any grease coming out, this is so annoying.”

Mijoo explained, “It burns easily, so I grill and eat a little at a time,” adding that she chose the balcony because of the smell. But acquaintances reacted with disbelief, joking, “I thought you were just cleaning the grill.”

Meanwhile, on online communities, criticism was directed less at how little Mijoo was eating and more at the issue of “cooking on an apartment balcony.” After Mijoo said she chose the balcony because of the smell, netizens began pointing out that grilling meat there could bother neighbors and questioned whether it was inconsiderate “nuisance etiquette.”

1. If you are sensitive to smells, you need to live in a suburb area. Otherwise, you'd have to keep your windows closed and run an air purifier

2. I always grill meat on our veranda though

3. This is such an overreaction, so we can't even grill meat anymore?

4.Ah seriously this is such a mess. Do you think grilling just two pieces of pork belly will grease the entire apartment? Do you think the smell will linger for a whole week? You guys are talking bullsh*t

5. No but there are all kinds of food smells too..

6. Rather than the smell, it's more like cooking on the veranda might attract a bunch of bugs no?

7. It's not *that* smelly

8. Why are people being so sensitive lately...? What's the problem

10. This is such a reach...
