SEVENTEEN member Mingyu has come under scrutiny after a video of him visiting a local club right after the group’s Asia tour spread online. Some netizens have even maliciously edited the footage and raised “flirting allegations,” leading to further controversy.
On the 8th, after finishing a concert at Singapore National Stadium, Mingyu was seen at a club in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore.
At first, some netizens mistakenly claimed the video was taken at a “Hong Kong club,” but it was later revealed that Mingyu, along with fellow members Vernon and The8, had gone there together simply to relax after completing their schedule in Singapore.
The video currently circulating on social media shows Mingyu enjoying dancing at the club. He appears to be naturally enjoying the music and dancing with acquaintances and members. The footage also includes a moment where he is seen talking with someone who appears to be a female DJ.
However, some netizens maliciously edited the video of Mingyu dancing at the club and began making speculative accusations, claiming he intentionally approached a woman and suggested inappropriate “flirting.” The controversy appears to be dying down after SEVENTEEN fans shared other videos showing Mingyu simply enjoying the music at the club without any particular intent.
Ahead of SEVENTEEN’s Singapore tour, their agency Pledis Entertainment had also helped create a more open tour atmosphere by hosting a “SEVENTEEN-themed party” with a famous DJ at a well-known local club on the 6th.
