[theqoo] THE MOMENT BTS' #1 SPOT WAS SHAKEN, ARMY DIGS UP NEWJEANS' "REVERSE" STREAMING" SABOTAGE

As suspicions have been raised that some members of the BTS fandom engaged in "reverse streaming" (playing other artists' songs for the purpose of hindering them) on music charts against fandoms of other idols, including NewJeans, past instances are also coming under criticism.

According to the music industry on the 25th, the group IVE topped the daily chart on the music platform Melon with their new song "BANG BANG." In response, some members of the BTS fandom, known as ARMY, spread claims on social media and other platforms that the fandoms of EXO, BLACKPINK, and SEVENTEEN had united to intentionally and collectively play IVE's song to lower BTS's ranking.

According to Melon chart data, no abnormal rapid increase was detected in the daily unique user count (UL) for IVE's song. The chart ranking fluctuation is analyzed as a result of a natural decrease in the number of users for BTS's song, rather than a rise in IVE's song. Furthermore, as of the 26th, there were zero instances of the music platform detecting this as abnormal usage (abusing). Instead, the criticism was directed at ARMY. The circumstances in which ARMY had spearheaded reverse streaming to undermine other singers' records were ‘exhumed.’

6. They should really know when to get ashamed

7. Looks like they're really running out of money with how many negative articles are coming out now
