Controversy over actress Song Jihyo’s attitude on “Running Man” has resurfaced. As criticism regarding her screen time and level of participation continues, viewer reactions remain mixed.
In episode 795 of SBS’s “Running Man,” which aired on the 22nd, a mystery race took place against the backdrop of an exhibition by actor and painter Park Shin-yang. The members carried out a mission to distinguish forgeries from genuine works among famous paintings collected from around the world.
However, Song Jihyo was nowhere to be seen in the early part of the broadcast. Even as Yoo Jaesuk, Kim Jongkook, and Yang Sechan engaged in banter, and Ji Seokjin and Ji Yeeun played detective in line with the concept, Song Jihyo did not appear; she didn’t show up until about 13 minutes into the broadcast. While it’s possible her remarks were edited out, it left a sense of disappointment, as comedy segments in variety shows are typically aired as-is if they provide laughs. Her presence remained low in the subsequent games as well. In a segment where the members and Park Shin-yang took turns drawing pictures to guess the given keywords, Song Jihyo struggled to keep up with the flow.
In particular, when the prompt “embarrassing anteater” appeared, she requested, “Wait a minute! Show me the question one more time.” In response, Kim Jongkook raised his voice, asking, “Didn’t you see the question?” and Haha also reacted, saying, “That doesn’t make sense. We looked at it together, so why did you forget it?”

1. I've been a die-hard fan of Running Man for over 10 years, watching it every week, but this person is a serious problem. People have been talking about it for ages, but nothing has changed, and now the fans are just ignoring her
2. The people who don't watch Running Man should just leave her alone. It's indeed a shame though. The issue of little screen time. It's that she has no screen time at all... She just doesn't talk
3. If you listen closely, Song Jihyo does react from time to time. But since her voice gets drowned out by the other members and her gestures aren't very exaggerated, she just looks like she's standing there motionless
4. She's unable to join in the banter. But she works hard at the games
5. Seriously, why are people so heated up about who should leave on Running Manã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ The producers know what they are doing
6. She gets paid even when she does nothing so why should she stop?
7. She really has no screen time
8. It's been years that this issue has persisted but nothing has been done
9. But seriously, the skin of her face seem so thick. She's been acting this way for years. And it's not like she was in a slump or anything
10. Ah... I keep thinking the same. I'm surprised seeing an article about it
