[theqoo] THE THREE SONGS WIDELY REGARDED AS HAVING A PROFOUND INFLUENCE ON BTS' CURRENT MUSICAL DIRECTION...

Dynamite

Butter

Permission the Dance

In terms of chart performance, they did reach their peak with Dynamite and Butter.

However, many existing fans who preferred high-energy songs managed to stick around until Butter, but couldn't handle the three-song streak leading up to Permission to Dance.

Ironically, since the sales peaked, the number of patriotic fans in their 40s and older has skyrocketed.

From this point on, similar types of songs became the title tracks.

And the next song that came out was

Yet to Come

1. I'm the opposite. I liked these three songs the most so I'm surprised by the comments here

2. I joined the fandom starting from Map of the Soul and left afterwards

3. Setting that aside, I just can't really get into them singing in English. It just sounds awkward to me, and I don't think they pull it off well. When I think about their fanbase, I don't really get why they're so fixated on English songs. No matter how hard BTS tries to go for that English-speaking boy band vibe, American non-K-pop fans aren't going to sing along anyway... The lyrics might be in English, but to the listener, the pronunciation, word placement, and vocal direction all sound awkward. I just think the members themselves come across much better when they focus on Korean lyrics, it feels more authentic, and their vocals sound better too. So, given BTS's standing, even if they release songs like Dynamite, I think it would be more natural, less cringey, and cooler if they kept the focus on Korean and only included a little English. I think the melodies of songs like Dynamite and Butter are good, but singing them in English is awkward and cringey so I don't listen to them. These songs just make them sound like Asians who can't speak English but want to look cool in front of Americans

4. I liked their songs up to DNA and after ward, they started releasing non-Korean songs and I don't even know what they were talking about. I couldn't relate and I didn't particularly looked up their songs afterward

5. As soon as they started releasing songs in English, I left the fandom. If I was to fangirl on pop artists, I'd rather fangirl on actual mega-pop stars

6. Their Yet to Come era was honestly..... ^^

8. Was Dynamite their first English song? Everything up to that point was perfect. Butter felt like a cheap imitation of Dynamite that was clearly trying too hard to be s*xy, so I didn't like it. As for PTD, I don't even want to talk about it, I think they lost their direction from there on. Black Swan, which had a similar vibe to Swim, featured an artistic performance with no breaks, but this time with Swim, they did a light performance in the middle and just , so the stage was boring. I waited four years, and for a song and performance released after gathering all that energy, this is a betrayal of the fans

9. I tried to hold on until Butter but since PTD, I just left the fandomã…‹ã…‹

10. Those are the only three songs I liked! Before that, their songs sounded like K-pop boy groups' so I found them so-so

11. I liked 'Bulletproof Boy''s songs more than 'BTS''s

12. I feel like songs like Save Me was the most Bangtan-like

13. It's like watching PSY catching the America-disease back then

14. I hated all these songs
