American YouTuber Johnny Somali, who has engaged in bizarre behavior such as kissing the 'Statue of Peace,' was sentenced to prison in the first trial and taken into custody in court.
On the 15th, Judge Park Ji-won of the Seoul Western District Court's Criminal Division 1 sentenced Somali, who is charged with obstruction of business and distributing false videos under the Special Act on the Punishment of S**ual Violence Crimes, to six months in prison and 20 days of detention, and ordered a five-year employment restriction at institutions related to children, adolescents, and the disabled.
Somali is accused of obstructing business operations in October 2024 at a convenience store in Mapo-gu by playing loud music and spilling cup ramen broth on the table.
He is also accused of causing a disturbance on buses, subways, and at Lotte World, as well as broadcasting obscene videos online that combined the faces of men and women.
