[theqoo] FOREIGNER: I HOPE MY FUTURE CHILD INHERITS MY KOREAN HUSBAND'S GENES

Excluding Northeast Asia, most people consider having body odor natural.
In fact, over 95% of American men have axillary odor, so schools must install showers.
To suppress this odor, using deodorant has become routine for most people.
It is actually an item possessed by most foreigners as a necessity, effectively regarded as a household item.
Some people wonder why Koreans around them do not smell and post questions about it.

My mom is Korean and doesn't use deodorant, but she doesn't smell. She says Koreans don't need to use deodorant, so they don't use it. I'm mixed Korean but I need deodorant. Why don't Koreans need deodorant? I eat the same food as Koreans, but I keep using deodorant.
It is not difficult to find videos on YouTube asking why Koreans and Japanese people do not smell.
To give the answer first, the reason East Asians do not smell is because they inherited genes that do not cause sweat odor.

Researchers at Britain's Bristol University surveyed 6,495 participants and revealed that the distribution of the 'ABCC11 gene (ABC transporter gene)' affects body odor.

Research results show that the ABCC11 gene is divided into the 'G allele' and the 'A allele'.

Among them, people with the G gene have active sweat secretion from the apocrine glands that cause underarm odor.

This means that the more G genes you have, the more you smell sweat, and the more A genes you have, the less you smell.

The G gene appeared mainly in Africans and Europeans, and the A gene was found to be common in East Asians.

Among them, it was scientifically proven that Koreans have almost no G gene, making them the ethnic group with the least amount of underarm odor.

Professor Ian Day, who led the study, said, "Only 2% of Europeans have this A gene," adding, "On the other hand, most East Asians have the A gene."

Meanwhile, a method to check if you have the G gene was discovered at a university in Japan in 2009, revealing that people with the G gene produce wet earwax.

1. But seriously, BO did smell like something I never even dared to imagine...

2. Seriously, what's wrong with those guys who are genetically predisposed to it but stubbornly refuse to wash and cause a bad smell?

3. But wait, if they don't even shower every day then... so do they just slather deodorant all the time on their unwashed bodies?

4. It’s hard to say that East Asians don’t have body odor... Japan seems similar to Korea, but China seems to have body odor...

5. When working out at a gym in the US, sometimes the person next to you smells absolutely insane. Every time they exercise, the smell just billows out...

6. The smell of Korean boys' high schools is the worst, so I wonder what it's like in other countries...

7. I went to India and it was no joke over thereㅜㅜ

8. The smell of foreigners in the real summer is painful; my nose hurts

9. Body odor from overseas is on a whole different level... but d*mn, the smell of Hannams is just as disgusting. Why on earth do they act like that with those genes?

10. You'd understand if you actually smelled a foreigner's body odor; it stung my eyes from a distance....
